GoodFood – Sustainability in Catering Schools

Erasmus+ project to develop sustainable habits for future professionals in the catering industry.

The global food system has a massive impact on our world and is one of the biggest challenges we face. It is responsible for more than a third of global greenhouse gas emissions. In the EU around 130kg of food is thrown away per person each year.

GoodFood aims to keep the impact of the food system within planetary boundaries. The project focuses on vocational education and supports catering schools and their students in developing sustainable habits that can be implemented in future workplaces and thus contribute to a sustainable transformation.

Among other things, the project develops learning materials as well as an online platform with food-related content and online lessons for empowerment, behaviour change and social learning.

GoodFood takes a multi-stakeholder approach and is aimed at the wider school network alongside pupils, teachers and school leaders. Each member is encouraged to translate the knowledge gained into concrete measures to promote individual and social change.
